On Saturday, 14th June, a spirited flotilla of Nuova Jolly RIBs departed Marina di Valletta for a memorable full-day cruise around Malta and Gozo — an event proudly organised by Strand Marine Ltd, the local representative of Nuova Jolly and a subsidiary of Tauss Holdings.
The day began early with a coffee morning and light breakfast set up on the quayside at SA/MI/ZU, where guests were welcomed with fresh pastries, hot coffee, and a warm sense of camaraderie. A dedicated area displayed Nuova Jolly merchandise, giving participants a chance to browse and collect branded gear ahead of the journey. Before setting off, Strand Marine held a briefing session, outlining the day’s itinerary, safety protocols, and navigational details — ensuring everyone was well-prepared for the adventure ahead.
We were honoured to be joined on this special occasion by Teo Aiello, General Manager of Nuova Jolly Marine, who flew in to experience the Maltese coastline firsthand and meet with local Nuova Jolly owners and enthusiasts. His presence added a unique dimension to the day, offering guests the opportunity to speak directly with one of the key figures behind the brand.
Under a brilliant early-summer sky, the group set off in formation, navigating Malta’s north coast and heading straight for their first destination: the picturesque Xlendi Bay in Gozo. There, the group was welcomed by long-time friends and partners at Xlendi Bay Watersports, who generously arranged water taxis to ferry everyone ashore.
Lunch was served at Ta’ Karolina, a beloved waterfront restaurant nestled right at the water’s edge. With the boats anchored just beyond the bay’s inlet, participants enjoyed a long and relaxed meal of fresh Mediterranean fare, local wines, and plenty of lively conversation — a true celebration of both sea and friendship.
Recharged and content, the fleet made its way west to the stunning Fungus Rock at Dwejra, where guests took time to unwind. Some dived in for a refreshing swim in the crystal waters, while others found shade on deck for a well-earned post-lunch snooze.
By late afternoon, the flotilla resumed its course, continuing around Gozo’s dramatic northern coastline. As the boats crossed the channel between Gozo and Malta, the golden light of the setting sun added a magical hue to the horizon — the perfect backdrop to conclude a day of shared seafaring.
The cruise ended as it began — together — with all boats returning safely to Marina di Valletta, where stories of the day were already being retold with smiles and plans for the next Nuova Jolly gathering starting to take shape.
