Job Description

We are searching for an experienced field technician to spearhead our servicing and technical department as part of our plans to grow our business. The candidate will be required to co-ordinate with staff in other departments, ensuring that projects remain on track, technicians reporting to you are synchronised in our mission to maintain the highest levels of after-sales and technical support to our customer base and fleet of yachts.

The prospective candidate should have previous experience as a marine technician and be well versed in yachts and their electrics, technical components, hydraulics, navigation systems, onboard furniture and fittings and general preventative maintenance.

Support Technician Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and scheduling of work force with prioritisation based on nature of the task.
  • Coordination and scheduling of sub-contractors.
  • Maintaining verbal and written communication with clients for a continuous situational update on their yacht.
  • Coordination of work force training programs as provided for by our principals and yacht manufacturers and their OEM component suppliers.
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding.
  • Coordination of warranty claims on our dedicated job card management cloud-based portal.
  • Forward planning and scheduling of winter yard works program.
  • Management of general communication between all company stakeholders including finance and accounting departments.
  • General overview, improvement and optimisation of efficiency in company and workforce processes and job scheduling.

Support Technician Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years maritime technical experience.
  • Apprenticeship and/or similar training programme and/or qualifications in electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Team player and workforce motivator.
  • A good command of IT.

Selection Process

  • We will shortlist a number of candidates that meet the criteria set for the role and conduct a round of first interviews.
  • A small number of these candidates will progress to a final detailed interview with the Managing Director.
  • A decision will be taken after a detailed assessment of these final candidates.
